Classes & Roles

What each Cookie Run: Crumble class does, how the roster splits between them, and the taxonomy disagreement nobody else mentions.

Every cookie belongs to a class. Class determines its role on the team, and a team missing an entire class has an obvious hole — it is the most common composition mistake and the easiest to fix.

The four populated classes

| Class | Cookies | Role | |---|---|---| | Charge | 20 | Front-line pressure — closes distance and applies damage up close | | Ranged | 20 | Back-line damage — attacks from a distance | | Tank | 15 | Absorbs hits and holds the front | | Support | 16 | Buffs, healing and utility |

A fifth class, Magic, exists in the game's class list but has no cookies assigned to it in any roster we could source. If it is a real class, nothing has shipped in it yet.

Class is not the same as rarity

A common early mistake is treating rarity as power. It is not: base stats are class templates, so every SSR Ranged cookie has identical ATK, HP and DEF — 155 / 2,170 / 60. A higher rarity does not give a better stat block within a class. What separates two cookies of the same rarity and class is entirely the skill.

That has a practical consequence: level the skill, not just the cookie.

Stat blocks by class

For SSR, the only rarity with published stats:

| Class | ATK | HP | DEF | |---|---|---|---| | Ranged | 155 | 2,170 | 60 | | Charge | 146 | 2,635 | 85 | | Support | 133 | 2,790 | 60 | | Tank | 124 | 3,255 | 120 |

The trade is legible — Ranged trades HP and DEF for the highest ATK, Tank does the reverse. Stats below SSR are not published anywhere.

Cooldowns vary by class

Averaged across the roster, Ranged cookies fire fastest (4.31s) and Support slowest (7.08s). Cooldowns overall run from 0.8s (Red Pepper) to 10s (Pomegranate, Rockstar, Tiger Lily). A long-cooldown skill gains far more from Duration effects; a fast one benefits from firing repeatedly inside a buff window.

The disagreement nobody else flags

Sources do not agree on what the classes are called.

| Source | Classes | |---|---| | This site | Charge, Ranged, Tank, Support, Magic | | Crumble Guides | Charge, Ranged, Tank, Support | | Reports of the official PV | Vanguard, Defender, Shooter |

Vanguard / Defender / Shooter is plausibly the same system under marketing names — Vanguard≈Charge, Defender≈Tank, Shooter≈Ranged. Two of the three starter-trio mappings hold under that reading, and one does not: Grapevine is called Support by one roster and shown as a Shooter in the PV.

Where the two conflict for a specific cookie, we withhold the class rather than pick. Grapevine is the only cookie currently affected. See our methodology.

Building around it

The Team Builder flags a missing class automatically, and filters the picker by class so you can fill the hole directly.
