Pets Guide — Effects & Pairing

Pets are the most misunderstood system in the game, because each one has two separate effects that work in completely different ways.

Companion vs Ownership — the thing to understand

That second row is why collecting pets matters even when they sit in storage. A pet you will never equip still contributes its Ownership effect permanently. There is no reason to skip acquiring one.

Companion effects are the larger numbers — Holy Baby Drop grants Ally ATK +10%. Ownership effects are small and narrow — typically a class or element getting +10 to a stat, or a fraction of a percent of crit.

The three shapes of Companion effect

Reading across all 54 pets, Companion effects fall into three groups:

Universal — buff the whole team regardless of composition. Holy Baby Drop (Ally ATK +10%), Majestic King Choco Drop (Ally Max HP +10%), Gold Drop (Ally CRIT% +7%). These fit any team and are the safe default.

Class or element specific — Eggbeak buffs Charge allies, Breadog buffs Tank allies, Floral Froglet buffs Fire allies. Worth more than a universal pet if your team is built around that class or element, worth much less otherwise.

Synergy amplifiers — the interesting ones. Fluffy Cheese Cat grants Ally Chain Synergy +1, Furball Pup boosts Projectile Speed Synergy +30%, Banana Lion Range Synergy +20%, Octo Wasabi Duration Synergy +25%. These multiply a system that is already the main constraint on team building.

Pairing pets with your team

Since only 18 of 71 cookies supply a synergy, and Range and Rapid Fire are heavily contested, a synergy-amplifying pet effectively acts as a partial extra provider. If your team runs a Range core, Banana Lion is doing more work than a flat ATK buff.

Practical order:

1. Equip universal buffs first if your team is mixed
2. Switch to class/element specialists once your team is concentrated
3. Add a synergy amplifier if you are running a synergy core — check yours in the Team Builder

Rarity spread

Of the 54 pets we track: 23 SSR, 12 SR, 9 R, 6 U, 4 C. Browse them all with effects on the pets database.

What we have not verified

Upgrade and levelling mechanics, how pets are acquired and at what rates, whether Companion effects stack when two pets grant the same buff, and whether Ownership effects scale with pet level. None of that is documented, so none of it is here.

We also publish no pet rankings of our own — the pet tier list quotes community grades with attribution, and 44 of 54 pets have no published grade at all.
